Why do you serve as a CIP? I serve because I am a member of the community that helps in building a culture of health and wellness. Serving on this collaborative is one way that I can partake in making that a reality.

Why is it important? I believe it is important because we have a wealth if diversity right here in Racine that is worth investing in, to build up and create a community that heals and grows together rather than apart. We are currently the city and state that has the highest infant mortality for African American babies which is appalling when we are in one of the wealthiest and most technologically advanced nations in the world.  According to Countyhealthrankings.org, Racine County currently ranks 65 out of 72 counties in Wisconsin for Health outcomes. We currently have 1 Mental Health care provider for every 780 diagnosed persons in need. I believe we can do better than this by focusing on our strengths and building on them.

What is one personal goal? One personal goal is to help others families so that they don't have to know what it is like to bury their child and all that comes with living through that.

What is your number one goal for systems change? My number one goal is to empower people in our community with basic tools to look out for one another and build each other up.
