Tabitha DeGroot

Committees, Councils, Workgroups you serve on:
  • Children’s Mental Health Collective Impact (CMHCI) Executive Council Committee
  • Oneida Nation - CST Committee
  • Parent 2 Parent Mentor
Why do you serve as a CIP? I serve because I want to make a change. I want to make a change not only for my community but in my household as well! If I can change at least one life I have met my goal!

Why is it important? There aren’t that many voices to speak up for families that need and want our help. We need to unite as one, stand up together and help systems change.

What is your number one goal for systems change? My number one goal for systems change is take small steps but set high goals, use new tools and definitely try to open closed minds.

Family:
I am married with six kids, two of them (twins) who have autism.

Passions / Hobbies / Fun Facts:
I love to hang out with my kids as much as I can. If you can’t find me at home you can find me at the ballfield or a lacrosse field watching my kids play. I’m always trying to find ways to help kids better themselves in any shape or form. I volunteer in my free time in clean ups and in my local neighborhood delivering monthly newspaper.
